Lately this is the game that’s been making me laugh. It’s a take that situation where you simply need to get 10 cards and that can be a challenge. The cards are all unique and unexpected, just when you think you’ve won someone will ruin it for you. You really have to experience it firsthand.
The game is just a deck of cards, there is zero set up and the rules can be explained in under a minute. Perfect for a busy night when you want to get up and running quickly.
My one criticism is that if you were to play this a lot the cards wouldn’t be as big a surprise. It’s the same issue I have with Cards Against Humanity. However, this is far more of an actual game so it has more replayablility. I would love to see further expansions, I would buy anything for this game.
Muffintime
Muffintime is for 2 to 8 players ages 13 and up published by Big Potato games. To win the game you need to start your turn with 10 cards in your hand.
Setup
The set up to this game is almost non existent. Just shuffle the deck and deal out three cards to each player.
How to play
The player that suggested the game will go first. On your turn you are allowed to place a trap card if you choose, then you can either draw a card or play an action card.
To place a trap card, place it face down until someone activates the condition on the card then turn it over and read it out loud. A placed trap card does not count towards your total cards and you can only have three out at a time.
To win the game, once you have 10 cards you will announce “it’s muffin time!” and if you still have 10 cards by the start of your turn.
It sounds easy, but can take a surprisingly long time and there are some amazing counter cards to ruin your plans. This is a great option if you are looking for a fun and easy party game.
