Incohearent

This game has been making it’s rounds on TIkTok lately so I figured I may as well give it a try. I am using the regular version. To be clear this is not for kids, they do have a family version which could be a better option depending on who you want to play with.

Incohearent is a lot like MadGab but I guess more updated with current references. Other than that there’s not too much to say about it. The cards have a combination of words that when read aloud sound like the phrase on the back of the card. You are reading the card and trying to guess the phrase. The clues can be a bit tricky but its fun because whoever is showing you the card knows the answer and even though you can’t figure it out, sounds like your saying it. Which is why you are seeing it on TikTok, because it is funny.

This is the perfect game for a night where gaming is secondary. It is a lot fun, there’s not a huge commitment to play and you can just pick up the cards and go.

Incohearent is published by What Do You Meme. It is a 17 and up game for 2 to 20 players that takes about a half hour to play.

How to Play

The object of the game is to correctly guess the phrases before you run out of time. There isn’t really any setup other than separating the decks into categories.

The game comes with three categories:

  • Party
  • Pop Culture
  • Kinky

There are two ways to play, Free for all and Squad Up.

Free for all

Each round is 60 seconds or until 3 cards have been correctly answered. One person is the judge each round. The judge will start the timer and hold up the card, Everyone else will be a translator. Translators will read the front of the card and who ever comes up with the correct answer first will win the card. After three cards have been correctly guessed the next person clockwise becomes the judge. The first player to have 13 cards wins.

Squad Up

Split into two teams. Following the instructions for Free-for-all each team will play three rounds. Whichever team has the most cards at the end of three rounds wins. If the teams are tied at the end of round three, each team will pick one player to be the translator. First translator to guess the card will win the game for their team.

Personally I prefer two teams of two and rotating that way. I don’t think this is the time of game where you need to be rigid with the rules. As long as people are using the cards and having fun it doesn’t really matter.
