I love the movie Mean Girls and I love board games so this works out quite well for me. Essentially this is the same as the game Truth Bombs, just with a Mean Girls theme. Which is kind of a genius move because is perfect for a burn book. In the game you are answering questions as if you were another player.
This is one of those games where the final score or who wins isn’t important. The answers are hilarious and that is really all that matters. With that being said, as much as I love this, it probably works best if you know the people you are playing with, a lot of inside jokes tend to come up.
Burn Book was designed by James A. Vaughan and published by Big Potato Games. It is for 4 to 8 players, ages 14 and up and takes about 30 minutes to play.
Contents
- Burn Book pages
- Score Pad
- Question Cards
- Coloured Mats
Set Up
Write each player’s name on the score pad. Give each player a burn book page and have them write their name at the top then pass it to the player on the left. Set out the correct number of boards for players. There should be one less board than the number of players. Place a question card on each of the mats.

How to Play
Look at the page you were given and answer one the of the questions on the table. Write an answer about that player in the matching colour on the page. Questions can only be answered once, if a spot you want is already taken you will have to use a different question prompt. When finished pass to the person on your left. This continues until you are about to receive your sheet back. Your sheet will stay with the player before you for the big reveal.
For the reveal, players will read the name of the person’s sheet that they have and read out the answers one by one. The player will choose the favourite answer and who wrote it. The player who wrote that answer will get a point and you will also get a point if you guessed who wrote it. The Player with the most points wins.
This is a simple but great party game that feels more like a fun activity. It will pair well with a Mean Girls Movie Night.
