Master Dater

If you like Joking Hazard, Cards Against Humanity, or Red Flags you will most likely enjoy this. I appreciate that unlike Cards Against Humanity and Red Flags this game does have actual art on the cards. I like the Cyanide and Happiness artwork and that is what drew me into this game. However, I think what really makes this one stand out from other similar games is the scoring. Each round there are 3 different interest cards that can be won. It’s a cool idea to be able to split the cards up because you can try to cover everything in your argument or focus in on one specific interest card. Also you need at least one of each colour to win and most likely players aren’t paying attention to what you have already won. It makes it a lot harder to know who’s ahead and creates a bit strategy to get the colours you need. With that I did end liking the game a lot more than I thought I would, it was a nice surprise.

Master Dater is game by Cyanide and Happiness. It is a three to six player game for ages 14 and up and takes about 20 minutes to play.

To win you will need to collect 5 Interest cards, including one from each category. Categories are love, flame and spark.

Components

1 deck of head cards
1 deck of body cards
1 deck of interest cards

Set Up

Shuffle the three decks and place face down on the table. Each player draws 3 head and 3 bodies. Do no show your cards to anyone else.

One player will start as the sexy single.

How to Play

The Sexy Single will flip over the top three interest cards. The Daters will then use their heads and body cards to create a perfect match. Players will keep their choice face down on the table until the reveal. Once everyone is ready, players will one by one turn over their cards and state why their character is best.

After everyone has stated their case, the sexy single will distribute the interest cards to the player with the character they think is best. All three interest cards can go to one player if they choose. Players should keep their point cards facedown. When the round is over, everyone discards their hands and is dealt 3 new body and head cards. A new player will become the sexy single.
